Mic Boyd - A Good Day.
It's kinda like the Ice Cube classic of the same name but with a herbaholic's take on it.

This works so well...
Banana Joe's Reggae Remix of the Beyonce Hit "Irreplaceable". This works so well it had to exposed. The extra edge this brings to the track makes it that much better.
and now the inverse/complete opposite of the last video.. Collie Buddz' 'Irreplaceable' Remix with the original instrumental. Pretty hot. Hopefully we'll be hearing some more from the Bermudan star soon.
Finally.. a classic track from Sizzla Kalonji - Thank U Mama. Seeing as it's Mothers Day in the UK I felt this was appropriate. This dude's overly sick

Daniel Merriweather- "Chainsaw"- studio footage ft skinnyman
Heard this track this morning on 1xtra and thought I misheard it when Dev said it was featuring Skinnyman as I can count on one foot the number of times I've heard him on an R&B track. It was a good tune tho so can't complain.

Bashy - Black Boys (Remix video part 4)
FEAT: BASHY, SWISS, JAJA, AKALA, SKINNYMAN, AND LOICK

So this time round we got Swiss, JaJa (Leader of Peel Dem Crew; one of the biggest gangs in London who has now apparently renounced violence), Akala (the Dynamite sibling, maths genius, football playing conscious technical rapper with some of the sickest beats mainstream UK Hip Hop has offered) and Skinnyman (the only white boy to even get a look in on being on this but still came strong with his afro-centricly altered content). It was bound to be the remix to take note of, which is why I've not posted up all the video remixes but have gotta give you the link to Sway's Black Stars which he unsurprisingly dealt with in his own way, focussing on Ghanains rather than the black boys at large, and didn't fail to entertain (but then you knew he wouldn't). Other notable verses for this track came from Ms Dynamite and Chipmunk.

Disturbin the Peace are back in business
On the track 'Tell it like it is' off the album Release Therapy, Ludacris proclaimed his lost love for Chingy stating
"We never took no money from Chingy thought I was cool wit em
I wish his ass well but I dont want nothin to do with em".
Unsurprisingly in the fickle world of hip hop where connections are golden, the tables have turned and Chingys back with DTP but more importantly Luda's back again, and delivers in a big fashion as per usual. Chingy's slightly better than he was, which wasn't hard, but still pretty wack, and Bobby V clings on to the DTP coat tails in an attempt to revive his once promising career.
Overall this tracks solid party banger guaranteed to get these guys shaking their money maker (or money rinser in their case?).
Chingy - Gimme Dat [Feat. Ludacris & Bobby Valentino]
And just in case you've been missing a bout of Americans acting ridiculously over the top check this clip. The dunk is ridiculously sick but I think all the hype is just a bit silly, this aint WWE!
Dwight Howard Superman Dunk.

Brand New Skepta Video - In A Corner
There's been a lotta hype in the grime scene about this video... Highly rated as the follow up club banger from Joseph Junior after the success of Duppy (later named 'Doin' it again').

Skillz - The Rap Up: 2007
Skillz, the ghostwriter and emcee from Virginia has been dropping the years' rap up for a few years now and have always been a source of end of/new year entertainment so check
his summary of 2007...
his summary of 2007...
A Ph.D candidate at the University of Minnesota, and his fairy tale story involving Youtube & Dr. Pepper
OK, I know this isn't strictly new, but seeing as its the new year (apparently), I felt that the best story involving YouTube of 2007 had to be shown as I got a feeling this guys got about as much of a chance making it as a singer as 'Howard' from the Halifax ad's, despite him having a great novelty voice:
And this is the result of Dr Pepper seeing Tay Zonday and making a big budget video for it... This has some strong parallels to 'Smelly Cats' by Phoebe in the 'Friends' epsiode, except this one seems more over done than the one in Friends, and that was a fictional comedy...Corporate America's done it again! Some more info about Zonday below, courtesy of Wikipedia
"Zonday's composition "Chocolate Rain" and accompanying video on YouTube became a popular Internet meme in July 2007. Within the course of a month, Zonday went from grad student in Minneapolis to appearances on national television. He has appeared on the Opie & Anthony Show, G4TV's Attack of the Show, VH1’s Best Week Ever, and Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he performed Chocolate Rain on national television a little over three months after he posted his composition on YouTube. He made the front page of Sunday's Los Angeles Times on August 12, 2007 with additional features in The Toronto Star, The Chicago Tribune's RedEye, The Star Tribune and People Magazine and has appeared on CNN for a televised interview."
The next clip is slightly off the normal schedule of Blatentlyblunt but it's gotta be seen if you've ever seen '2 chicks 1 cup' - the infamous clip(s?) involving 2 girls and a cup full of something, which can be left to your imagination until you see the clip..

Sway and Ian brown on an anti-war tip
Who woulda predicted this? 1st sway apparently signing for Konvict music (Akon's label) then making this trak with Ian Brown from the Stone Roses.. this track and vid is deep, trust. the video seemed a bit over the top at 1st but its clearly well made and theres a twist at the end which 'adds value' to the whole thing...Good to see an unbait (just about!) cross over tho, I think I smell mainstream money...
Sway comes across a bit more thugged out in this vid than normal tho, reminded me of Billy Danze (M.O.P) a bit?!
See how this goes down, wouldn't be surprised if this reached MTV Base/2 tho..
Also check Sways version of Black Boys by Bashy, this one entitled 'Black stars':
