Man Found Guilty Of Stabbing Professor Green

The man who attacked Professor Green last year has been found guilty of stabbing the MC in the neck with a broken bottle.

Anthony Jones was accused of the 'cowardly and vicious' assault on the Just Be Good To Green rapper, following a disagreement with Pro at Cargo nightclub in East London on 23rd May 2009.

The 25-year old is said to have taunted the rapper before he 'thrusted a broken bottle' into Green's neck so hard, he was almost cut to the bone.

Green, real name Stephen Manderson, gave evidence in the case, telling the jury: "All I saw was a hand come up to my face and neck, it was his [Jones'] right hand, there was a very warm feeling in my neck,"

"I put my hand up and blood was everywhere. I phoned my mother and my grandmother and I said goodbye."

The I Need You Tonight hitmaker apparently fought back the tears as he showed the court the six-inch scar on his neck, adding: "I was scared. I know what happens when people tend to get cut in the neck. I was extremely lucky, nothing lasting, fortunately."

Jones, from Finsbury Park, London, was convicted of GBH with intent at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, with his sentence expected to follow in the next few weeks.
