ILL BILL (Non Phixion / La Coka Nostra) featuring BIG LEFT (La Coka Nostra) + DJ ILLEGAL (Snowgoons)
ZION I (Hailing from California USA - First ever UK Show!)
STIG & SYNTAX
JACK FLASH

An eclectic line up featuring the cream of US underground hiphop and the UK’s best up and comers. Brooklyn to The Bay and back to Brixton!

Ill Bill is a Brooklyn hiphop legend who has worked with everyone from DJ Premier to Bad Brains, MF Doom to Slayer; a fierce MC with an intellect to match. After solidifying his big dog status on the underground with his former group Non Phixion’s classic The Future is Now, Bill has since been grinding out solo projects (incl. 2008’s amazing The Hour of Reprisal) that showcase his intricate flows and subject matter that falls somewhere between the best socio-political efforts of the 90’s and his brother Necro’s psychosis fuelled violence and bongo flick narratives . The self proclaimed ‘2011 Melle Mel’ is also one of the founders of La Coka Nostra and on this night is joined by mic bludgeoner Big Left also from the aforementioned supergroup (also includes House of Pain and others).

Zion I hail from Oakland CA and in the tradition of the Bay Area, a microcosm of any and every kind of hiphop, they’re very much in their own lane. Bringing sunshine to a cold Brixton, they make the kind of music that reminds you why you fell in love with hiphop; Jamm is honoured to be hosting their first UK show! The duo of MC Zumbi and producer Amplive are about to drop their 6th album (The Takeover) including a fonky collab with the UK’s own Jamie Lidell and the 808 slap of single Juicy Juice, already rattling trunks worldwide. NOT BE MISSED!

Stig & Syntax aka Fatty and Speccy - the Beer & Rap bombers have gotten themselves a rep for smashing live shows, parlaying a wicked sense of humour through ricockulous flows and takin’ no shorts. Who said hiphop from the UK isn’t fun?

New brand new grime videos

Wretch 32 ft. Ghetto & Badness - Inna Di Ghetto (produced by Maniac)

Strong contender for grime tune of the year? Let me know what you think. It's a shame this vid's a bit out of sync. If this one gets picked up maybe they'll make a new one for it as it's the type of track I can see crossing over to the US scene (which is unusual for grime, as i'm sure you're aware!).

Newham Generals - Violence.
Brand new full length video featuring Newham Generals, G-Man and the man himself Dizzee Rascal. This tunes biiiig. Coming from quite possibly the most anticipated album in grime music history, Generally Speaking. In case you were wondering why Dizzee's on this video which is actually grimey (no disrespect to Diz but his full on grime tunes are more scarce than they used to be), it's cos the Newham Gen's are on Diz' label; Dirtee Stank.

KRS and Kid Capri launch real hip hop tv channel

They've found a gap in the market and this actually seems like a potential rival to BET (not even gonna mention MTV). As you probably know the commercial hip hop market hasn't been at it's best recently, with generic rappers coming out with generic tracks on the whole, but as with anything, if you look a bit deeper, below the chart targeted material you'll find the hip hop scene is alive and well. This is where KRS, the man I like to describe as hip hop personified, comes in to play, alongside veteran DJ, Kid Capri. Check out this interview with himself and DJ Kid Capri on Fox (!), chatting with a guy who seems like he knows less about hip hop than your boss' granny.

Grimey Christmas has come early!

As it's almost Christmas (I couldnt care less about Christmas but thought this would be a good time to drop something in about it), there's a bunch of new free (and legal, may I add) downloads for the loyal fanbase (I say loyal but really I mean anyone that wants free music will seek it out like a fiending sniffer dog in the departure lounge of Amsterdam Schipol airport).

1st up is the new mixtape from one of grime's top Jamaican-esque acts; Badness, who's been doing big things in 2008, the highlight of which was probably his collaboration with Maniac, Wretch 32 and Ghetto on the BANGER 'In a di Ghetto', one of my favorite tracks of the year.
Here's a taster of him, with his debut video; 'Cut Out':

Download the mixtape here:
Badness - Uncalled IV

1. Want U there (A Milli)
2. Young 3 & Single
3. Born Winner ft. Wretch 32
4. 2 Late
5. Skit
6. Buss It
7. Fine Out ft. Stylo G
8. Dutty Doin
9. Murder ft. Scortcha Italo
10. Spontanious
11. Prison Tune (and bonus)

The next free mixtape for you is Left Turn Radio. Take a look at the front cover and if you like any of the artists on there (my picks are C Gritz, English and Jammer, but they're all sick). Make sure you download this and listen to every track and it's jam packed with quality (like one of those vitamin bars costing £6.99 for like 30g) as well as straight up fun time grime with a bit of garage and hip hop influence. The mixtape itself is quite varied so if at first you're put off, don't worry, and contains freestyles, radio show spitting and recorded tracks...
Left Turn Radio Mixtape (Free Download)

Finally, the humble mix. This one comes from my boy Jonas, and is full of mellow dubstep goodness, so hit this on if you're feeling that dubstep shit goin down at the moment, taking over the clubs; bassline by bassline...
